The Urban Barrel: Mastering the Art of River and Wave-Pool Surfing
You don’t need an ocean to find a barrel anymore. From the standing waves of the Munich Eisbach to the high-tech wave pools of the Midwest, inland surfing is exploding. But a river wave isn't an ocean wave. The RockerWave Flux series is designed specifically for Freshwater Buoyancy.
1. The Buoyancy Adjustment
Fresh water is less dense than salt water. To maintain the same "float," we’ve adjusted the volume-to-length ratio by 5%. This ensures that you don't sink into the wave face, providing the "pop" you need for air-rotations in a localized environment.
2. Rapid-Turn Geometry
Inland waves are often tighter and faster. The Flux features a Double-Concave Tail that provides instant lift and allows for the "pivot" required in small-space surfing. The concrete jungle just got a whole lot more fun.
